Meet Julie Fiorenza

(she/her)

I am a licensed master social worker (LMSW) committed to providing culturally sensitive, trauma-informed services in a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment. I hold a Master’s degree in social work from New York University and have experience working with LGBTQ+, immigrant, and adopted adolescents, as well as young adults impacted by the criminal legal system. I am available to work with pre-teens, adolescents, and adults who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, symptoms related to trauma, difficulty navigating life transitions, and issues relating to self-esteem, identity, and adoption.

My Story

As a Korean American transracial adoptee and therapist of color, I offer a unique perspective and understanding of how our intersecting identities shape our sense of self, interactions with others, and navigation through the world. I also understand the need to destigmatize mental health in the Asian community and other communities of color. I hope to help close the treatment gap for these populations.

To facilitate this process, my approach is holistic, integrative, strengths-based, and person-centered, drawing from psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapy as well as mindfulness. My background in the performing arts motivates me to incorporate creative approaches and somatics to encourage self-expression, identity exploration, and healing. Most importantly, I will meet you wherever you are in your journey and tailor my approach to meet your unique individual needs. I look forward to working in partnership with you to help you reach your full potential.

I accept Cigna and Husky insurance and out-of-pocket payments. For out-of-pocket payments, I do offer a sliding scale; please inquire for more details.

Initial Consultations

Therapy is personal and oftentimes can feel vulnerable, which means it’s important to find someone with whom you feel safe and connected for the work to be impactful. I strongly encourage new clients to “shop around a bit” to find the right fit, which is why I offer this free consultation. You can share with me a little bit more about what’s brought you to therapy, and I can share with you a little bit more about my approach. Hopefully, you’ll then be able to better assess whether or not I am a good fit for what you’re looking for in a therapist.
